History of ViewPoint
Founded in 2011, ViewPoint has built a worldwide reputation as a leader in supplying a wide range of video displays to Law Enforcement, ISR and Military organizations and has established a strong track record for reliability backed up with award-winning service and support.
ViewPoint Systems was created to fill a void that existed between low-end, industrial-grade monitors and expensive, overly complex monitors designed and manufactured by larger and less nimble organizations. Through our steady growth over the years, strategic decisions made by ViewPoint’s upper management has ensured we are always in a position to meet our commitments to quality and on-time delivery.

ViewPoint has a solid history of developing custom derivatives using our proven core technology. This concept dramatically reduces the risk of new designs by utilizing previously tested and qualified electronic components and mechanical packaging designs.

We have established business relationships with organizations ranging from large defense contractors to special mission operators throughout the world. ViewPoint continues to leverage these relationships to provide new products and set new standards for performance and reliability in ruggedized video monitors.
About Our Team
David Conkle is the Founder and President of Viewpoint Systems. Mr. Conkle started ViewPoint in 2011 when he identified a growing need for a line of ruggedized monitors that were simple to operate, easy to install, reliable, and could be manufactured at a lower cost than options currently available in the market.
Mr. Conkle has over 20 years of experience in engineering and electronics manufacturing. He graduated from Sewanee University with a degree in physics, and started his career by serving his country and joining the U.S. Navy as an officer in the nuclear submarine program. Mr. Conkle was stationed on the USS Florida SSBN 728 for three years and left the Navy honorably after receiving his Naval Nuclear Engineering Certification.
He then went to work for IBM as a quality engineer and, during his third year, assumed a management position over a team of quality engineers. He left IBM in 2000 to pursue a Master in Business Administration and Master in Information Management degree from Arizona State University. After graduating, he went to work for Jabil Circuit, a large electronic contract manufacturer.
During his time at Jabil, Mr. Conkle designed a global supply chain software application and managed a $100M customer account in Eastern Europe. He left Jabil in 2007 and went to work for a rugged display manufacturer where he served as the Director of Operations before founding ViewPoint Systems. Mr. Conkle enjoys hiking, boating, travelling and triathlons.
Director of Business Development
MIke Oeschger – Director of Business Development
Mike Oeschger serves as Viewpoint’s Director of Business Development. Mike brings more than 14 years of sales, marketing, and business development experience to the team. He is responsible for leading the company’s sales efforts, identifying new markets and emerging trends, and building new and existing client relationships.
Mike graduated from the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and was a member of the Terps Boxing Club. After graduating, Mike began his professional career working for a radiopharmaceutical company before moving on to work for a global medical device manufacturer. In this role, Mike was responsible for leading all sales and marketing efforts, developing strategic sales and marketing programs, launching new products, and executing multi-year agreements with various partner organizations.
Mike enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his family. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, woodworking, and restoring his classic 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400.
Inside Sales, Program Management
Eric Prochaska serves as ViewPoint’s inside sales engineer and provides program management on custom-designed monitor projects. Mr. Prochaska has over 30 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, corporate-level operations, quality engineering and business development.
Prior to joining ViewPoint, Mr. Prochaska was Senior Principal Consultant at CCXOS Inc., providing product development expertise, cost estimating, process analytics, technical and proposal preparation services to firms in the defense, electronics, software development, systems integration, manufacturing, information security, and health-care information technology industries.
Mr. Prochaska’s work experience is extensive and diverse, ranging from participating in new business startups to being part of the management team that grew Manufacturing Technology, Inc. from $5M in revenue to $70M over a period of 10 years. He has served in a number of positions during his career including Design Engineer, Operations Manager, Program Manager, Business Unit Manager, Engineering Manager, and Director of Proposals and Contract Administration.
With a strong knowledge of what it takes to transition a business from the startup phase to solidifying a market base, Mr. Prochaska has been responsible for project and engineering management as well as aspects of resource allocation, budgeting, customer relationship management, procurement and organizational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology from the University of West Florida and is a member of the Program Management Institute. Prochaska enjoys sailing and high-performance road cars.
John Kirkpatrick has been involved in Production and Operation Management since completing his education in 1992. His undergraduate degree is in Commerce and Business Administration, while his graduate studies were in Applied Statistics and Management Science. Most of Mr. Kirkpatrick’s career has been spent in manufacturing with advanced materials such as carbon fiber, thermoset and thermoplastic adhesives, and honeycomb sandwich panels produced in a semi-automated manufacturing environment.
In addition to his duties as operation/plant manager, Mr. Kirkpatrick has overseen the implementation of QMS system certification for ISO-9001, 2008 and 2015 standards as well as ERP Accounting system integration. He has accumulated extensive experience in international trade and logistics in both supply chain and business development. Mr. Kirkpatrick brings all of this practical experience to ViewPoint along with over 20 years of developing leadership qualities built upon mutual respect while achieving win-win relationships with suppliers, co-workers and customers. Mr. Kirkpatrick enjoys spending weekends at the beach taking long bike rides.
